Wife and I went there today for a late lunch. Good food and great service. Love the atmosphere. You are missing out if you leave without getting a chocolate shake!
The staff is not the most attentive, or well-trained, but the food is delicious and the atmosphere a lot of fun! I think if the staff were a little more professional, the place would be perfect. The grounds need some upkeep, too, which makes you wonder just a bit about their standards for keeping what's behind the counter in shape....
This is the best hidden gem in all of Tucson. I went here as a kid, and I now take my two boys here. We have made it a birthday tradition to come and get their birthday sundaes and pictures here on their Birthdays. Only this birthday my son turned 5 and he got sung Happy Birthday by Marlin Monroe! (Great Actress, and a BEAUTIFUL VOICE!) We all loved it! She was fantastic! Did I mention she has a BEAUTIFUL VOICE! HahahaAll the staff are Amazing, Attentive, kind and just happy all around.
We saw this place as we were passing through town and thought it would be a neat pace to eat. We were not impressed. The food was just so so. I ordered the Turkey Wrap with fries. It was fair. My wife ordered the Ruben. It was soggy from the sauerkraut. The dining area was not very clean and the service was fair. It has a lot of memorabilia around on the walls but, most of them are reproductions. I would not eat here again.
First time experience. It was great service was good, food was good, I would definitely go again. This time I would get the Belgium waffle with strawberries on it for sure.
An adorable 50's diner, one of the best we've ever seen! Super cheerful, really nice service, the food was very good and prices were very reasonable. We will definitely stop again when we are in the area!
Rob is the king of the kitchen, he cooks for groups so quick he can do it with his eyes closed. Savannah and all the servers are queens and they deserve 20$ tips every table. They are smart flexible and hardworking. And me, I'm just a piece of it all and im glad that i am. 😁 also pa is okay
Great nostalgic atmosphere and music, friendly staff, large portions, lots of menu items, reasonable prices.
This is one of my favorite places to eat. All their food is great but the pancakes are the best.
Price doesn't match the food they serve. Ordered a ribeye steak and they burned one side so that's all you could taste. I wont come back and I don't recommend never again
It was outstanding. So glad they have the sign out. Were open.
Food was overpriced for the quality. Soaked ceaser salad that was not able to be finished. Over $27 for salad, soup, eggs and toast. Service wasn't great. Didn't bring simple items when requested. To top it - no toilet paper in one of the bathroom stalls and confederate flag on the wall. (To each their own)
Its adorable! Loved the decor on the walls. I just wish staff was a bit more professional. I loved their quirky fun personalities but better dressed would be nice (two employees had pajama like clothing). Hamberger and onion rings were good but the frys needed help. They looked like they came out of a freezer bag with freezer burn and tossed in the oven. My milkshale was milked down to much but it was decent. I would still go here because the burger was the best part and i love burgers.
I wasn't even hungry when I ordered my roast beef meal, but when I started eating it I had to clean the plate, was so good! The place is very friendly and we were very well served. The decoration is really nice!
A great place to dine and usually some cool cars there for Sunday breakfast. Like most places around here the condiments are now in single serving packets and ya almost have to beg to get enough sugar for your coffee.Portions are perfect and ya GOTTA try the pecan pie warmed with a scoop of vanilla. Careful it'll BE VERY HOT! I burned my mouth but when it cools you are in for a REAL treat!
Food was fair, pricey for the quality. Service was very good.
The ambience was amazing. Loved it in there, our waitress was Super cool also. Food I'm not gonna say the best I've had, but was good. Their biscuits and gravy were the best.
Delicious French fries, cute little diner, and great service with sweet waitresses. Will be back to try more. Good portions too!
Great service, great food!! And their steak and eggs are delicious!! Thank you we will be there again! :)
This little diner is a hidden treasure! Went to celebrate my niece's graduation, and was impressed with the high quality, not to mention yummy food we were served! We showed up with about 25 people, and they made accommodations for the entire family. I highly recommend this "mom and pop" food stop, for anyone traveling in or near Sierra Vista!
This was our first time visiting Papa's 50's Diner. My Wife and I were very positively impressed. We were greeted as we arrived and seated with a smile. Our waitress was warm and friendly making our dinner meal a very positive experience. We definitely will be back!
They have one of the best Reuben sandwiches I have ever had. My daughter got an open faced Turkey sandwich and it smelled so good. I am definitely coming back here again.
Food is good. Service good. Nice atmosphere with old timey 1950-60 memorabilia.
In my experience, the food here is sometimes good, sometimes mediocre, but never really bad. Could be a four star, or a three star on any random day. Same goes for the service. I could pretty much justify dining here due to the reasonable prices. I say “could”, as they have recently raised their prices and are pretty close, if not at, the tipping point. And those nasty freakin bathrooms...bleach is like a buck a gallon...throw some on the floor every year or so...seen cleaner bathrooms in a Tijuana dive bar.
Great place for a good old diner meal! Staff is friendly, food is great and efficient service. Highly recommend!
Beautiful atmosphere, they definitely know their theme and stick to it. Great service, fairly quick kitchen. This place has the best French toast I think I'll ever have.
Great atmosphere and fantastic diner food! It takes you back!
The food was meh but it was pretty good and the customer service is also mediocre the restaurant itself is nice the atmosphere is great but its very dirty and eveytning about it is mediocre.
Amazing food and prices!!! Couldn't be happier with the service and quality, will return for sure!
We were there other day. May never go again. We watched our waitress handle people's money, credit cards, dirty dishes and on and on without ever washing her hands. Right on to grabbing people's toast and other food items. No gloves or hand washing! Watched the cook handle raw foods, cracked eggs and never once changed his gloves! Even after hugging people and scratching his arms! Right back to preparing people's food.
Great food, quick and friendly service, terrific atmosphere!
Great food but slow to serve. Very busy on Saturday. Love the decor.
The booths are not big girl friendly, the waitress was polite. And we didn't wait long for our food. The hard boiled egg wasn't completely cooked. But great portion size.
Great, fast service and delicious breakfast. My daughter loved the biscuits and sausage gravy. Summer was our server and was wonderful.
It took 48 minutes to get our order. When it got to the table the middle of my meatloaf was cold. The mashed potatoes were instant and gravy from a jar. The atmosphere is not very 50's either. No theme from the wait staff which were slow and not very friendly. Don't waste your money!
Atmosphere is fun, service is excellent, the breakfast foods leave a bit to be desired. The biscuits and sausage gravy, as well as the gravy on the chipped beef on toast had a strong, uncooked flour taste. The country fries were tasty with the mix of vegetables but needed to be crispier for my taste.
Clean place, nice people, dinner food.
What a fun place to eat. Great food and friendly staff!
Our second visit was better than opening weekend. The service is a little fair weather depending who you get. The food is always good. Price is okay. Cool diner.
12-30-2019. Billie, the nice young man in the eagles hat. I had hash browns with sausage gravy. The best in Arizona bar none. Billie is a great cook. Always great food. Wait staff very nice...
The burgers were real good and the waitress was nice very friendly
Delicious food. And very good service 😊
Great Food in 50s looking diner
The French toast was the best I have ever had. Ask for the Vermont Maple Syrup, you will not be disappointed!
Very attentive service. Solid food.
Was fairly expensive for the quantity and quality of food. Tourists looking to step back in time will be entertained by the plethora of memorabilia in the decor.
Great atmoshere. Very friendly staff and good food.
Been coming to Papa's off and on for over 4 years, whenever I am in town. The best French toast there is, and not just in town. Tastes just as good today as it did over 4 years ago when I first had it.
I had the liver and onion, which is a tougher meal to pull off, the liver here was really good! The only disappointment of the meal was the instant mashed potatoes. Everything else was good! My wife had French toast which she says is the best in the area so far. Nicely done!
